The Electron Microscopy of the Human Hair Follicle

چکیده
1. During the early differentiation of the cuticle the cell membranes smooth out and the cells become closely attached over most of their surface. The change seems to be due to a layer of cement which forms between them. The plasma membranes also increase in density. 2. The decreased membrane activity of the cuticle cells may prevent a phagocytosis of the melanocyte processes and thus account for the non-pigmentation of the cuticle. 3. The flattening and imbrication of the cuticle may possibly be explained by a zipper-like spread of cell contacts. 4. Keratinisation of the cuticle occurs at a late stage in its development; the keratin formed is an amorphous type, similar to the gamma-fraction of the cortex which is produced at a similar level. 5. Keratinisation is accompanied by the formation of complex intercellular layers similar to structures observed in the inner root sheath (see Part 3). 6. In the final stage of keratinisation the remaining cytoplasm condenses with the result that the cell is divided into a laminated structure with an outer keratinised layer and an inner layer, which is insoluble in keratinolytic solvents.

Formations of feather and hair follicles during embryonic stage are nearly similar. The aim of the present research is to study the similarities and differences between these two follicles in adult pigeons and rats. To fulfill this task, feather and hair follicles were dissected and processed for light and electron microscopy. The results demonstrated that these two follicles were similar in ha...

Objective(s): Chronic liver disease has become a major health problem that causes serious damage to human health. Since the existing treatment effect was not ideal, we need to seek new treatment methods. Materials and Methods: We utilized the gene recombination technology to obtain the human hair mesenchymal stem cells which overexpression of human hepatocyte growth factor (hHGF). Furthermore, ...
متن کاملThe Role of Biodegradable Engineered Nanofiber Scaffolds Seeded with Hair Follicle Stem Cells for Tissue Engineering
Background: The aim of this study was to fabricate the poly caprolactone (PCL) aligned nanofiber scaffold and to evaluate the survival, adhesion, proliferation, and differentiation of rat hair follicle stem cells (HFSC) in the graft material using electrospun PCL nanofiber scaffold for tissue engineering applications. Methods: The bulge region of rat whisker was isolated and cultured in DMEM: n...
متن کاملDifferences in Growth Response of Human Hair Follicle Mesenchymal Stem Cells to Herbal Extracts and a Growth Factor
Background: One of the key questions in biochemistry is why cell becomes aged and what are the involved factors? Why cell growth is stopped after some divisions and cells become senescent? This occurs in a greater frame in the whole body and cells dye after a while. Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) is characterized by a loss or decrease in hair follicle size, which could be related to the loss of ha...
متن کاملEvaluation of the effect of low-level laser irradiation on viability and ROS production in human hair follicle stem cells
Background: Low-level lasers are used for various medical applications including wound healing and hair loss treatment. Cell Therapy using skin stem cells could be a novel approach to hair transplantation. However, there is no study on the effect of low-level laser on the hair follicle stem cells. So, in this study, we investigated the effect of low level laser irradiation on viability and ROS ...
متن کاملAugmenting Peripheral Nerve Regeneration Using Rat Hair Follicle Stem Cells (rHFSCs) in Rats
Introduction: Nowadays, cell therapy is the most advanced treatment of peripheral nerve injury. The aim of this study was to determine the effects of transplantation of hair follicle stem cells on the regeneration of the sciatic nerve injury in rats. Methods: The bulge region of the rat whisker was isolated and cultured. Morphological and biological features of the cultured bulge cells were ob...
